JAKARTA \u2014 PT Freeport Indonesia berharap produksi kembali meningkat pada 2021. Direncanakan meningkat hingga 41 juta ton biji (ore). Alasannya, tahun ini aktivitas pertambangan terbuka (open pit) dihentikan dan akan masuk ke tambang bawah tanah atau tambang dalam.<\/p>\n

“Tahun ini kami akan memproduksi sekitar 41 juta ton bijih (ore). Tahun depan kurang lebih sama, dan pada 2021 diharapkan produksi kami akan kembali meningkat mendekati sekitar 60 juta ton per tahun (annum) serta pada 2022 produksi kami diperkirakan kembali normal,” tutur Presiden Direktur PT Freeport Indonesia Tony Wenas di Jakarta, Rabu (27\/2).<\/p>\n

Sebelumnya\u00a0 Direktur Jenderal Mineral dan Batu Bara Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Bambang Gatot Ariyono memperkirakan penerimaan PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) akan turun pada 2019.<\/p>\n

Dia menjelaskan kemungkinan penurunan itu terjadi karena rencana Freeport akan masuk ke tambang dalam pada 2020. Nantinya diharapkan pada tahun itu, revenue maupun EBITDA-nya Freeport akan kembali naik.<\/p>\n

Presiden Joko Widodo mengumumkan pelunasan divestasi PT Freeport kepada PT Inalum (Persero) pada 21 Desember 2018. Dampak positif lainnya dari penguasaan mayoritas saham Freeport, seperti dipaparkan dalam laporan Kementerian ESDM bertajuk “Energi Berkeadilan: 4 Tahun Kinerja, Realisasi Hingga 2018”, di antaranya pendapatan negara jadi meningkat, menghindari pengadilan arbitrase, serta adanya transfer teknologi pengelolaan tambang paling kompleks.
